BCF Helps Jaycees Fund New Playground Equipment
BHS Post Prom Committee also gets a boost from the Bennington Community Foundation.
The Bennington Community Foundation recently presented the Bennington High School Post prom committee a check for $600.00. This was used to help with expenses that were due from the post prom celebration. The event was a huge success with the high school students.
The Foundation also presented the Bennington Jaycees a check for $3,000.00 to be used towards the new playground equipment for Johns-Bohn Park. The Jaycees hope to have the new equipment installed in the near future.

Foundation awards funds to Bennington sports groups
The Bennington Community Foundation recently awarded three area youth organizations donations to be used to help with their needs. The Bennington Athletic League was given $1350. This will be used to improve the baseball fields. The Bennington Baseball Club was given $2400 to help purchase new bleachers and improve the dugouts at Pruess Field. The Bennington Basketball Association was presented $2315 to purchase two adjustable basketball hoop extensions for the Bennington elementary gym. The donations were made possible with the money raised from the 2008 golf tournament sponsored by the Bennington Community Foundation. This year’s golf tournament will be held August 15, 2009 at Stone Creek Golf Course.

Bennington Golf Tournament Raises $9,000

The Bennington Community Foundation (CF) raised over $9,000 at its seven annual golf tournament. There were 140 golf-ers who participated in a four-person scramble at the August tournament. The winning team of Bill Weidner, Mark Reimers, Kyle Reimers and Jim Curtsinger shot a 55-17 under par. (more…)
