The foundation was formed in 2005 as a non-profit organization that represents the interests of the community and the donor, promoting community improvement projects.
The foundation has already begun making a footprint in the community by providing the
Welcome to Bennington electronic sign, and donations to the Bennington Athletic League and Baseball club for lights and sprinkler system. Some additional projects/events the foundation has been involved in are: Bennington Daze BBQ in the Park event, Bennington Foundation Golf tournament, Bennington Foundation Community Calendar and the Community Christmas Tree Lighting event. These were made possible by donations from businesses and individuals. Bennington Community Foundation would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their support in 2007.
The Bennington Community Foundation is planning to host another BBQ during Bennington Daze 2008. Please check back for the date of this annual event!
Plan on attending our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, November 30th. We’ll also debut the 2009 Community Calendar, have hot cocoa, treats, and of course, Santa Clause will be coming to town.

Rounding the corner and turning down the main street, 
the siren from a fire truck rang through the center of the town of Bennington last Sunday afternoon. Children lined the sidewalk straining their necks to stare down the road at the slowly approaching large yellow truck and its much-awaited passenger. With smiles plastered on their faces, screams and giggles rippled through the crowd, and the children waved frantically as the truck pulled up with a jolly, white-bearded Santa Claus. As Santa stepped off the fire truck, he was bombarded with hugs and high fives, young babies greeting Santa for the first time, and elementary school aged children who had waited all year just to see him. The Bennington Community Foundation (CF) raised over $9,000 at its seven annual golf tournament. There were 140 golf-ers who participated in a four-person scramble at the August tournament. The winning team of Bill Weidner, Mark Reimers, Kyle Reimers and Jim Curtsinger shot a 55-17 under par. Read the rest of this entry »
